BLUE SHIFT
Blue Shift was a one-night only concert event at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Harlem. We wanted to perform our new album with all of the instruments we used to record it - so we invited all of our friends to help.
Art isn't ever really done, it just gets taken away from you at some point. At that moment it's frozen in time. Blue Shift is the breathing snapshot of what Blue is, one year out.
I wrote a draft of this on Cedar Beach off of Babylon, New York My toe tracing the words in sand stretched nearly 40 feet, the punctuation at the right side slowly being eaten away by the waves It was about a golem feathered with barnacles and seaweed emerging from the ocean and me, trembling in the sand waiting for the judgment of whether I was to be defended "Is it a heaven or hell at the floor of the sea?"
